How do I register a Gigaset Maxwell IP phone?

Note: Below are Gigaset Maxwell 10 screenshots, but the setup for the whole Gigaset Maxwell range is similar.

1) Getting started

Detailed setup instructions can be found in the box. 

Gigaset phones can be powered using either the manufacturer's supplied PSU adaptor or data and power can use the LAN port 48V POE 802.3af.

2) Find out your VoIP credentials

This information can be found in your VoIP dashboard.

To set up your VoIP account on your phone you will need your SIP username <SIP username>, SIP password <your_password> and host/server: <voip_server>.

3) Log into the Gigaset Maxwell phone’s web user interface using its IP address

Default Language is English 

To find out the IP address from the phone: 

  • Press Menu - Setting - About Tablet - Status
  • IP address will be displayed.
  • For example : 192.168.1.xxx

Navigate to this IP address from a computer, and enter the Maxwell default password (admin) in the login page (It is recommended to change these to something secure).

4) Navigate to the Account section and enter the credentials 

Once logged in, click “Line” on the left. Then enter your VoIP credentials into the relevant fields:

  • Usernamel: Any text (No Space) (e.g. VoIPon Talk)

  • Display Name: Any text (e.g. Name of user)

  • Authentication Name: <SIP username>

  • Authentication Password: <your_password>

  • Active: Change “tick box”

  • Register Address: <voip_server>

Check the “Status” is ‘Registered’. 

Check the “Account Status” is “Yes”.

The phone has successfully been registered and enabled for use.
