How do I register a Fanvil X4G series IP phone

Note: Below are X4G screenshots, but the setup for all of the Fanvil Series is exactly the same.

1) Getting started

Detailed setup instructions can be found in the box.

Fanvil phones can be powered using either the manufacturer's supplied PSU adaptor or data & power can use the LAN port 48V POE 802.3af.

2) Find out your VoIP credentials

This information can be found in your VoIP dashboard.

To set up your VoIP account on your phone you will need your 

  • SIP Username <SIP Username>
  • SIP Password <your_password>
  • Host/server: <voip_server>

3) Log into the Fanvil phone’s web user interface using its IP Address

Default Language is English : Press "Exit"

To find out the IP address from the phone: Press OK button twice

Status this will then show you the IP address on the phone’s screen. For example : 192.168.1.xxx

Navigate to this IP address from a computer, and enter the Fanvil default username (admin) and password (admin) in the login page (It is recommended to change these to something secure).

4) Navigate to the Account section and enter the credentials

Once logged in, click “Line” on the left. Then enter your VoIP credentials into the relevant SIP fields:

  • Username: Any Text (no space) (e.g. VoIPon Talk)
  • Display Name: Any Text (e.g. Name of user)
  • Authentication Name: <SIP Username>
  • Authentication Password: <your_password>
  • Active: Change “tick box”
  • Register Address: <voip_server>

Scroll to the bottom and click "Apply."

Check the “Line Status” is "Registered." 

Check line status is registered.

The phone has successfully been registered and enabled for use.
