Hardware installation
- Using the SIM removal tool (1), insert and push the button, releasing the SIM card slot tray (2).
- Carefully pull out the SIM holder and insert your SIM card (3).
- Ensure the SIM card orientation is correct and push the tray back into the router (4).
- Attach the mobile and WiFi antennas.
- Carefully insert the PSU into the connector, the notch ensures only one direction. The PSU and signal strength LED’s with be on.
Login to device
Using a PC or Mac, the RUT 240 is fully managed using the web console.
- First, connect a network cable to any LAN port on the RUT 240 and ensure the PC or Mac is set up for DHCP.
- The default setting is: Obtain an IP address automatically.
- Using your favourite web browser, type the default IP address of the RUT 240 192.168.1.1
Default Login details are:
- Username : admin
- Password: admin01
Password change required:
It is strongly advised to change the administrator password.
Wizard setup
The RUT 240 setup wizard will follow the essential 5 steps to successfully set up the router.
Advanced configuration is available from the main Network, Services & System tabs.
Step 1: Set local time zone
Step 2: Ensure the correct operator country and operator profiles are used.
Some SIM’s are supplied with operator APN settings.
Step 3: Default LAN and DHCP settings.
Step 4: Wireless security is strongly advised. The default wireless network has no encryption and users connect without a password. Select an encryption method, WPA2 Encryption is a preferable standard.
WEP and WPA are considered older standards and rarely used.
